There are 3 basic ways of applying watercolor. The names of the techniques refer to the
condition of the paper and the brush.
#1 Wet on Wet – wet paper and wet paintbrush, allowing the
colors to bleed and blend together as the pair will follow the water.
#2 Wet on Dry – wet paintbrush on dry paper, keeps the paint where you apply it.
#3 Dry on Dry – dry brush and dry paper, is a specialty technique that could be used for
textures like grasses and hair
