Gazed, fired, with some gold details added, and my Pet Urn is finished. I was able to place all the ashes of my furry family members ,who have gone on over the Rainbow Bridge, inside their final resting place and sealed it shut. Bitter-sweet moments as I remembered each of these much loved souls.
This was quite a journey, personal and creatively. I enjoyed all the problem solving and minor mishaps along the way, to end up with an urn I love. The stains didn’t fire the way I thought they would, but that’s part of the discovery. But I rather like the rough, rustic look of the final product, and after all, none of my beasts were exactly the delicate type.
Since the ashes of 5 pets completely filled the urn, and I had to seal it, I’m going to begin another urn for my currently healthy kitties. And I was asked by a friend to make a custom urn for her pets as well! I may have something new afoot here.
