Consistant Vessels

Today’s objective was to throw several vessels that were the same shape and size.  Any “potter” who produces for commerial sale needs to be able to do this. I’ve gotten pretty good at throwing successfully every try, however the pots and bowls took  shapes on their own. I had little control of the outcome. Today I had a shape in mind, and I think I did well to repeat that shape 5 times.  You may notice “one of these pots is not like the others, one of these pots just doesn’t belong”.Well, it started out as a 2 lb. ball of clay, just like the others.  But maybe I wedged it in the opposite direction, because the top half kept tearing off.  I’d trim it down and try again, until I ended up with a centered clay about the size of a golf ball. But I will SUCCEED! and so I have a tiny pitcher.
